Tybee Pier

Ya didn't think I was done with Tybee did you?

Broke out a ScrapGoods template for the orange (don't look Bobbie), green stickles on the top left flower and orange stickles on the Thickers title. Oh and Mica used as a paint for the flourish pattern on the cs.

Tybee Island - New C2P Kit!!

Oh these papers are GAWGEOUS!!! Just knew they would look great with our Tybee/Savannah pics. Also gave me a chance to try out my new Cricut Opposites Attract cartridge. Yeah I know, it's been out awhile, what took me so long.

Bo Bunny Back to Basics Beau Jardin Bleu with the coordinating journaling cut out, Bazzill cs from my stash, Prima fancies from kit with brads from stash. Yeah I still use the flower shaped brads, I love those!

Picture of the layout is a little fuzzy, it's raining here AGAIN. If I can, I'll get a better shot tomorrow.

I just love Tybee Island, the people are so friendly. We stopped a gentleman walking on the beach to ask if the restaurants were open and he asked if we'd like him to take our picture!!! So sweet.

Get this kit!

I made a gift tag!

It won't compete with TimH but I like it. Tattered Rose distress ink, puffy ep, snowflake rubon, copper snowflake brad. I crumpled the tag first, smeared ink on my all too small craft sheet (sniff sniff maybe santa will get me a big one), spritz with water, dabbed the tag all in it, dried with heat gun. Looks more rose IRL. Attached the rest of the goodies and tied to the wrapped up jelly. This is going to our friend Gordon (psst don't tell him) whom we will see tomorrow for lunch!

It's my first attempt at fancy tag making and I rather like it! Might do more of those. Watcha think?

Best use of scrappy supplies

Sheldon did the plum jelly and I used my Xyron, circle cutter, printer, photo software, photo paper, scissors cause I broke two circle cutter blades and my Brother label maker. Yep, need something? Ask a scrapper.....

The morning after....

Okay, my C2P layouts are done. Sent off to the Scrubby Hubby for the website. Next morning this is what I find:
You know, I actually had to dig my camera out just to use it. It'll take me ALL DAY to clean this up. Oh and I have about 50 pages that I have GOT to get into page protectors and albums. Wanna come help?

December Commit2Paper layouts

I cannot believe I found pics from 1993!! The piece mounted on the red cs is the back of the SEI Alpine Frost pp. Used a Bohemia So Sweet transparency over my journaling (a rak) and some epoxy snowflake stickers, also a rak. Look at that hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Awww wasn't he a little cutie. I did this one mostly with scraps from all the other layouts! Thickers for the date from the group buy thanks to Amy, red gingham ribbon stash.
Mixed in pieces of three different pp from the SEI Alpine Frost, prima fancies. The green and red cs are shimmer cardstock, must more obvious IRL. And of course some Thickers.
LOL Sheldon said I was NOT going to use that pic. Oh yes I am!!! This one is pretty simple but I like it, added a copper snowflake and some silver snowflakes, Amy I believe you sent me those. The platinum "Happy Holidays" ribbon is from a ribbon swap on SG.
Double pages are SOOOO Hard to photograph! I used every bit of the ribbon that came with the kit, I think that is a first. The buttons are cute on the ribbon I think. Okay Martha told me to leave the title alone FINE!!! The extra pics are fastened together with a prima fancy and brad, then there is a clip holding them onto the page, you can reach inside the page protector very easily to pull them off to look at and clip back on.
I'm working on cards with the scraps, but I also have three full pieces of pp, lots of die cuts left over. Get you a kit!!!!!!

Auto Bailout

Did you know Harry Reid slipped a little something extra into the bailout plan that thankfully has not yet passed? A raise for federal judges:

Also, the congress just voted themselves a $5000 raise!

Yeah times are tough....

Ice Ice Baby!

In Georgia, it's very hard to come up with wintry pics! And I don't travel TO a place that currently has snow, I mean that is why I don't live in Ohio....

But we do get some wonderful ice storms once or twice a year. They usually bring down the whole area and we don't care, it's just another excuse to lay out of work ha!!!

Commit2Paper December kit!!!! Gotta have it!

Terrific silvery Thickers! Prima Fancies too cool. Love that ribbon, it's very soft and rich.

See how shimmery that SEI paper is? It's the Alpine Frost line, with coordinating buttons.

Used a gold transfer sheet to write the title, and want to give a shout out to my dear friend Barbara, this is my take on one of her recent sketches, thanks!!!

Had some extra pics so clipped them together with a Prima Fancy and brad, there is a clip on the back side to hold it on the page, you can slide the pics around to look at them.

ScrapGoods Member #4137

Our wonderful ScrapGoods is closing. The economy has finally hit me where it hurts.

Amy & Jodi's warm creative spirit provided us a safe place to grow in our craft and make wonderful friends.

For me it was even more than that. Many years ago I was suffering from a deepening depression. Found a therapist that I could open up to and one of the first things she began pushing me on (amongst many) was to find myself a hobby. I played with polymer clay and still do. Even made her a representation of how I feel when I am really down.

After awhile I stumbled into scrapbooking. Can't remember exactly how. But I started playing a little with it, took a class at Michael's. Read magazines, watch way too many episodes of Sandi G's show. Heard about the crops but I was never a people person. Really! I know many of you might find that hard to believe (shus) but I didn't have any real friends. Never went to a crop. Just stayed in my little world with Sheldon and Josh.

Finally decided I needed a kit club. SG was running an ad in one of my magazines. Looked at about 5 others and decided to join SG. Lurked a lot in the forums. Finally worked up the nerve to post a comment. But nobody answered?!! What was this!?! I was getting rejection here! Oh I cried and cried. Back then I cried about everything. Sheldon told me not to take it personal, maybe they just had to get to know me.

So I went back to that thread and OH MY!!! Someone posted an answer! And said welcome to SG!!!!! Oh my heart sang, I cried again (sense the trend here?).

Well, that just opened up a whole new world to me. I started talking. And talking. And talking (shut up). And then got up the nerve to post a layout in the gallery. And hey! Lookie there, someone liked it! That started another bout, posting every page I did.

Would I? Could I? Actually get on the Design Team????? Oh try it. THEY SAID YES!!!

Like I said, Amy & Jodi, ScrapGoods was more than a kit club for me. You and the wonderful ladies there (and a few not so wonderful) brought me out of a very dark place. You will always have my love and affection.

ok done now
