Caroline's First July 4th

I'll take another pic tomorrow so ignore the fuzziness. I just knew I could get a July 4th layout out of this Commit2Paper kit! Just added some bling and stickles for the "fireworks" and sparkly bottom strip. Kit comes with some great cb pieces which I left out of the kit photo, oops. Took the rectangle, inked it up and using Dooblebug mini rubons put her name. Simple but I rather like it!

New layout with Feb C2P

This was FUN!!!

The "K" is grungeboard run thru the cuttlebug script pattern, then inked with brown and copper. Metal alpha brads for the "ris" for Kris' name.

I will have to rephotograph this tomorrow in the daylight so you can see the metal strips spell out "and her gentlemen". I printed that out on paper, flipped it and the metal over to emboss it into the metal strips. Cut those from some sheets Vivian sent me ages ago. Smeared a little timber brown Stazon over it, attach with brads. I'll let Kris put the boys name in the journal bottom left, cause I can't tell the twins apart!!!

Sorry for the pic but couldn't wait to post this.

AND most importantly, this is my take on Barbara Faulk's sketch which is this month's challenge so get busy and let us see your take on this sketch. A prize is in store!!!

This is the redo of the photo. Much better, you can actually read the metal strips now.

Just love all those little bare tootsies!!!

Commit2Paper Feb09 Kit!!!

This is completely different than anything we had before. Look closely at the six sheets along the top, they have shaped edges! That is front and back views, these are Prima papers. Love these, you can do Valentine's, a masculine Valentine (how many times do you get to do that) or vintagy layouts. I can see school layouts and with the red white and blue cardstock I can see some Fourth of July, Memorial Day!

Lots of ideas for these, infact I am working on a layout of my niece and her boys and I'm having to do TWO of it cause she is coming to visit tomorrow and I know one will leave with her! Plus I have a 12x12 frame to put it in. Back later with a pic of that. Meanwhile, drool at this:

ATC Fun

Ohhhh hope the girls in the swap don't see these!! LOL, yeah right.

I used FOUR different stickles, two mica paints, one regular glitter (seems so old school after stickles) and three Post Inksentials. Oh and the black lines are ep.

These were FUN!!!! Thinking of covering delicate areas with glossy accents for protection.

On with the show....

Now that it's over, maybe we can get back to business. Shut all the Bush Bashers up, what will they complain about now? Oh that's right! Biddy Pelosi wants to convict him! Sure, as long as we round up everyone who voted with him.

Oh and round up all the ones responsible for the sub prime fall out and try them too.

Oh wait, that would be the same ones who want to try Bush!!!!!

Funny how things comes round and round.

Let it be, get on with it and SHUT the F up!!!

Getting better - so soon!

I'm really surprised how much better I'm feeling after just a few days on my new meds. Did I mention Sheldon threw out everything in the fridge? Then he went to the store and loaded us up on "good for us" foods.

Oh and we are doing the Biggest Loser at work. Highest % and highest pounds will win. I almost hate to say it but since January 8 ------ FIVE pounds lost !!!!!!!!!!

What a month!

OH I will have to find a way to scrap this.

I've been a sleepy baby!

Hadn't been feeling quite up to snuff for several weeks, just tired, out of breath, ears ringing (more than normal), dizzy so much that had to hold onto chairs and walls to keep from falling, generally yuck!

Went to the doc. Blood pressure! Of course why not! Both parents had it so guess I shouldn't have been surprised. So now I am on bp meds. She also gave me something for my ringing ears. But it will make you drowsy.

NO SHIT!!!! oh sorry

Anyway, I slept off and on (more on than off) for 24 hours! Missed a call from Bobbie (finally she got me), I think Martha got me during one of my off times (hope I was coherent) and Tara got me just as I was waking up for good. I think I'm all caught up now!

No way will I get this room cleaned up now in time to submit pics for scrapperschallenge. Shoot I had a chance of winning too. Oh well, my table is awesome once again AND I got paper covers in the front of each drawer now so it all looks much more cohesive.
There are shelves Sheldon installed just last week, they are over my computer desk area and hold my stamp binders (indexed), templates, glittered alpha cb. Of course top shelf are bunches of cards I've kept from my buds. I can not bring myself to throw them out so I rotate them. If you've sent me a card and it isn't up there it probably will be next week. And the binder at the far right is STUFFED with atc's, I still need to decorate the binder.

Love these two shelves, very decorative with lovely primas, more cards, Sara binders made by Marinka and Amy!!! Use one for contacts and schedules and others for creative notes and planning. Keep Picachu and zebra handy for company. And don't you just LOVE all those altered paper clips in the vase! I sure have some talented friends.

Jan09 Layouts with C2P kit

Inspiration: Color! Really loved how this months kit inspired me to use great color combinations! You will too.

Sheldon and I took a spontaneous trip to Savannah and Tybee Island last month which went great with this kit.

And then this one was great for our New Years although we didn't get any real photos! But I gathered up the "remains" and got a pretty good memory.

And again I have a mess. And some where in there are my atc's still to be finished....

Interesting comment on another site

Author only listed RCD as his id but I like what he said:

During the debate for the constitution, Patrick Henry was concerned that a large federal government would inevitably lead to a loss of individual freedom. James Madison’s argument was there were two protections in the Constitution to prevent this. One was that the Feds would have no ability to directly tax the population. The other was that Senators would be elected by state legislatures. Madison reasoned that the federal government would not become despotic if it had no money, and Senators would be kept in check because they would be responsive to the people through more accessible state governments. The Democrats removed both protections just over 90 years ago and we have today exactly what Patrick Henry feared: a government run by career politicians with no interest in the actual country or its people. In one famous speech Henry asked rhetorically whether liberty has been destroyed most often by the licentiousness of the people or by the tyranny of rulers? "I imagine," he answered, "you will find the balance on the side of tyranny."

schools

I'm so confused. Detroit schools are scrambling to get money or donations for toilet paper and light bulbs but Chicago schools paid $67,000 (count the zeros) for cappuccino (sp) machines?

We really have some mixed up priorities.

See!

Al Qaeda blaming Obama for Gaza. These people don't care who's president. No one can make a difference. They will not be satisfied till we are all either dead or converted. Did anyone see the special report on the Hamas leaders son that has defected to the US? He has converted to Christianity and is telling all who will listen exactly what I just said. You cannot please the extremists of Islam.

Interesting Quote

Ran across in an inspirational training mag:

Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon.

They probably meant it for sales people but I think it's apropo to many aspects of our lives.

New Years!

We didn't have Josh with us this year to celebrate and we neglected to take a photo so I gathered all the "remains"!!!

Some of these BoBunny papers the back is better than the front!
Added the title (duh). Glad I did cause it was just the right touch for that corner which was a little dark, carried the color from the ribbon and flower up to the corner. Tip on these Thickers, you WILL need additional adhesive. But the adhesive on them is good for temporary positioning to get them in just the right spot. Then if you move them, the residue left behind wipes off very easily. That's turning a baddie into a goodie!!

Pic still ended up looking a little crooked, sorry.

A very special card we received

This is a card we received at work amongst many from our various vendors and such. But what makes this one special is it is handmade by the people at Augusta Training Shop. They provide training and small jobs for the mentally challenged in the Augusta area. We donate and job out small painting and staining jobs for samples several times a year.

I just thought this card was adorable! Just a little thank you for what our company gives back to the community.
