Get Well Card

Had to tell my friend I didn't really want him to get sick just to do this card but I did have fun making it! Somehow, he understood what I meant LOL!

Watercolor crayons and pencils, chocolate scented ep (from Suz!), and believe it or not I bought some Martha Stewart stamps. I know, shocking, don't really like her, but these were on sale.

This is my interpretation of a Michael Strong card.

Did some scrapping during the Holiday!

Used some more of Commit2Paper's BoBunny kit a month ago.

Added some 29th Market transparencies which went great with these boys.

Commit2Paper Jan09 kit

OH this months layout are a labor of love, believe you me. My computer died, my editing software is still not working properly, lost most of my pics (yeah I'm a dummy no recent backup), had major trouble reloading my printer software, UGH!!! My niece Kris came through at the last minute with pics I could use with this kit. It's kinda supposed to be winter related but we just don't have winter in Augusta so some are Christmas.

BUT I never did get a detailed picture of the kit but you can go here for details. It is a typically yummy group of papers from SEI with flocking! Already on the page so you don't have to mess with that icky stuff, love it!

Enjoy

Christmas Cards 2009

Okay, I just had to write Ranger Industries and suggest they come up with a trigger applicator for their Stickles glitter glue!!! After doing 30 cards (or more) my hands are SORE!!!

I wanted the front of the cards to be the Swiss Dot, so bought a Cuttlebug embossing folder right? But it won't do 5.5", I tried and even tried to run it through again to get the piece it misses. No good. All that accomplished was a smashing of the dots already embossed. So I settled for the 4" in the middle hoping it would look deliberate.

Kept them simple, with glitter glue along the blue and red strip. (psssst don't tell but I used a generic glitter glue...)

The snowflake is a sizzix die run through my Cuttlebug (been giving my cb a workout lately). That was great! Got it on sale at Joann's. Popped a bit of bling in the center.

The cardstock was cheapy, used the cs that comes in the page protectors in albums LOL!!!!! I knew I wanted the Swiss Dot pattern to really stand out and Bazzill is just too thick. So cheap is now dressed up.

All in all, I'd say this set of cards cost me $30, but that includes the on sale die and embossing folder which will be used again.

Finally!!!!

Now that Crackhead has her tins, I can post pics of the ones I did, these were SOOO much fun to make!

Obviously, I did day 21 and 11. Used MM fabric tape on one and alcohol inks on the other.

So we each did one or two (or more) of these tins for Martha who is studying to be a doctor and these are "study guides" LOL!!! They all had some goodie inside. LOADS of fun making these.

This one had Reese's pieces inside, they were put in after the pic was taken.

I really liked working with the fabric tape, will use that again.

Goodies inside the black & white tin: bling!

And all the rest!

Commit2Paper November (oops December) 09 Kit and Layouts

BoBunny Back To Basics! Great colors and designs to go with just about anything. Thickers, Prima Say it With Pearls (never tried those before, love em) plus a view other little items and this was fun to work with!

My niece came down with her new hubby, her kids, his kids, we all had a blast watching the kids climb trees, run around (there is something to be said for having 2 acres) and eating Sheldon's world famous tacos.

Biltmore - last page

Okay, finally done with the layouts for our Biltmore trip so many years ago. And now I've decided I'll make my own album from scratch, cross your fingers. I'll post it when done.

This is just a wrap up page I like to do for our trips with a big pocket (this one with copper mesh) to hold maps, receipts, brochures and any notes. I used my NEW ATG gun on this, I think I'll like it.

The pocket I made with rough cb cut into 2 frames, lined with the extra thick adhesive that comes in a big sheet, needed something thicker to hold the copper mesh. Slipped copper over one frame, other frame on top of that. There are no sharp edges of copper that way. Then covered the frame with mitred pp, all from Cosmo Cricket.

Tina, this is what I was inking up my fingers with!!! Grungeboard hinges, inked them with copper catseye, kept the little "holes" and ran them back and forth over black ink, dropped a dab of glue into each hole and popped the black inked holes back in as fake nails. Kewl huh!

Had to share this pic of Yoda, funny how the camera caught his tail LOL!

More off my list - Pic reloaded

Boy photographing a double pager is tough! This is crooked as all get out, but it looks great irl. I may try again tomorrow.

This is again, a combination of a Commit2Paper and Scrapgoods kit with lots of my own bazzill cs, flowers. Couldn't find exactly the color ep for the scrolls and journal tag so I mixed three!!!! Have you ever tried that? Just be sure to NOT mix glossy with rough textured like TH distressed, not much telling what results you'll get. Inkadinkado fall stamp with white ink and the title was done with my NEW Cricut Cartridge Designer's Calendar, love that.

One more "Wrap Up" page and this project is DONE. I'll reload all the pages when done so you can see the entire trip. I'm thinking of making an album to hold it, have some 12x12 cs and various binding ideas, we'll see if I get that ambitious.

Commit2Paper Oct09 Kit!!!

You like Daisy D's? Who am I kidding, we all like Daisy D's! Puffy Thickers, Daisy D's chipboard stickers, BoBunny Chunk Charms and ribbon round out the kit.

Here's the kit and my first layout with it, ain't Boo too funny? Used a sketch from our OSU buddy Lissa, thanks for the inspiration!

Not happy with the pic of my layout, I'll try to retake it tomorrow.

Progress on my list

Made my list and got started on all those "In Progress" scrapping projects.

This is one of the last two layouts for our Biltmore trip. The very last one is a two pager. Started out using that yummy November 2006 MME Bohemia kit with extra papers from Cosmo Cricket from ScrapGoods. Remember that one! I had started with that kit and completed two pages. Then did two more with a Commit2Paper kit with very similar papers. So this is a combination of SG and C2P! Not sure where the "Moments" cb tag came from, it doesn't say Cosmo but it sure matched, and used Thickers from the June 2008 C2P (I think) dabbed them with a little blue paint, plus petaloos from a buy on PeachyCheap. And the MR kraft journaling tag from Chere's swap. So many people had a hand in this LOL!

Made a pocket (love to do that) to hold the hotel memorabilia. You can see a faint scroll on the pocket using the template from that months SG kit, but didn't turn out too well.

Oh well, I like and one check off the list.

Too Many Projects!!

Amy asked this question a few days ago about what projects do you have looming over your head and why? That got me looking at mine and oh dear!

The 3 drawer unit in the back are three more projects. No, these are not the hundreds of pictures we all have that need to be scrapped, these are actual projects that I have printed pics, picked out papers and embellies and even in some cases started on pages! Still sitting there looking at me in those three drawers and three of my homemade CH holders Ridiculous.

So, now I'm going to get a piece of paper and write down each one, title of project, date, and then hang that list up on my bulletin board so I have to look at it everyday.

Think that'll get me going? We'll see, I'll let you know.

Commit2Paper September 09 Layouts

These PaperTrunk papers are just so sweet to work with! Love good quality paper. I guess originally they were meant for fall type pics, but I think they do a FINE job with heritage! Oh and just had to make a card too, cause I really needed one!

Added one shaped paper from Making Memories on the AFS Convention. Just noticed I think I spelled sargent wrong. Oh well, I might put a journal tag over that to "fix" it.

On Sgt. Beasley, I painted the chipboard corner flourishes with four different paints using my finger! Finger painting, Joyce style LOL!

Thanks for looking, get you this kit!

Mama Lori Birthday (see Sheldon as a teenager)

Yep I'm evil.

Used the sketch Jen has on her site, I think it's from pagemaps? And of course this yummy kit from Commit2Paper. Added the Prima Voila lace across the top. And just had to get my hands dirty so inked up the little bit of ribbon, it was a bit too white for me.

Sheldon HATES these pictures, but I think he was such a cutie!

Commit2paper Sept09 Kit

Are you ready for fall layouts? Yummy Paper Trunk rich reds and greens, browns, great Thickers and ribbons. Bazzill Chip flourishes to alter in dozens of ways. Oh and a really cool Paper Trunk Chipboard Wheel! I've made one before, it wasn't easy, so this is all ready for you to alter! I just love hidden journaling or ways to make a layout interactive.

Have fun!

Commit2Paper August 2009 Kit!

Wow these colors are amazing. Double sided paper from American Crafts, Moda Bella, Bazzill Bitty Blossoms jar of 60!!! AC Ribbon, Thickers fonts and shapes and Bazzill Chips Corners! Whew, lots of goodies. Oh and 2 sheets each of three colors of cardstock. I've added a few items of mine and used some different Thickers on a few but this kit is so adaptable you'll get lots of use! I know I have lots more I'll be doing with this kit as there are still bunches of pics to scrap from our San Antonio Retreat. Hehe, yep they were my guinea pigs this month.

Enjoy!

Only a Southerner knows the difference between a hissie fit and a conniption fit, and that you don't "HAVE" them , you "PITCH" them.
_____

Only a Southerner knows how many fish, collard greens, turnip greens, peas, beans, etc., make up "a mess."
_____

Only a Southerner can show or point out to you the general direction of "yonder."
_____

Only a Southerner knows exactly how long "directly" is, . as in: "Going to town, be back directly."
_____

Even Southern babies know that "Gimme some sugar" is not a request for the white, granular sweet substance that sits in a pretty little bowl in the middle of the table.
_____

All Southerners know exactly when "by and by" is. They might not use the term, but they know the concept well.
_____

Only a Southerner knows instinctively that the best gesture of solace for a neighbor who's got trouble is a plate of hot fried chicken and a big bowl of cold potato salad.. If the neighbor's trouble is a real crisis, they also know to add a large banana puddin!
_____

Only Southerners grow up knowing the difference between "right near" and "a right far piece." They also know that "just down the road" can be 1 mile or 20.
_____

Only a Southerner, both knows and understands, the difference between a redneck, a good ol' boy, and po' white trash.
_____

No true Southerner would ever assume that the car with the flashing turn signal is actually going to make a turn.
_____

A Southerner knows that "fixin" can be used as a noun, a verb , or an adverb.
_____

Only Southerners make friends while standing in lines, ... and when we're "in line," we talk to everybody!
_____

Put 100 Southerners in a room and half of them will discover they're related, even if only by marriage.
_____

In the South, y'all is singular, all y'all is plural.
_____

Southerners know grits come from corn and how to eat them.
_____

Every Southerner knows tomatoes with eggs, bacon, grits, and coffee are perfectly wonderful; that red eye gravy is also a breakfast food; and that fried green tomatoes are not a breakfast food.
_____

When you hear someone say, "Well, I caught myself lookin'," you know you are in the presence of a genuine Southerner!
_____

Only true Southerners say "sweet tea" and "sweet milk." Sweet tea indicates the need for sugar and lots of it -- we do not like our tea unsweetened. "Sweet milk" means you don't want buttermilk.
_____

And a true Southerner knows you don't scream obscenities at little old ladies who drive 30 MPH on the freeway. You just say,"Bless her heart" ... and go your own way.
_____

To those of you who are still a little embarrassed by your Southerness: Take two tent revivals and a dose of sausage gravy and call me in the morning. Bless your heart!
_____

And to those of you who are still having a hard time understanding all this Southern stuff, ... bless your hearts, I hear they are fixin' to have classes on Southernness as a second language!
_____

And for those that are not from the South but have lived here for a long time, all y'all need a sign to hang on y'alls front porch that reads "I ain't from the South, but I got here as fast as I could."

Now...... Shugah, send this to someone who was raised in the South or wish they had been!

If you're a Northern transplant, Bless your little heart, fake it. We know you got here as fast as you could

San Antonio

Love love love this July Commit2Paper kit! These Pancy Pants "Summer Soiree" papers have been so much fun to work with.

Here's our group pic from the San Antonio Retreat, so sorry more of us didn't get to go cause it was a blast! I had seen the main 'serious' photo, but when I was the goofy one, this layout started building itself in my head.

Used three of the patterned papers, one of the cs and added another cs (green) from my stash. Plus some Daisy D rubons, a little help from my computer. The chipboard flourishes (remember those from the SG kit?) were painted orange, then green crackle paint. I had the cb star all painted up but ran out of room! May still see if I can crowd it in there.

Commit2Paper July09 Layouts

I started these in San Antonio! Got my kit the day before leaving, so glad cause it was fun. I didn't realize till I got home that all the pics were on an angle. That was an accident! But like the way they turned out.

We finally got our pics from all retreat ladies uploaded to photobucket so I'll have some more layouts with those!

Enjoy, more layouts of our zoo trip.
